Director of Urban Health Program



The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine (UICCOM) is seeking a Director to assist the Assistant Dean of the Urban Health Program (UHP) with program management, program development and implementation toward increasing the number of underrepresented and disadvantaged students who successfully matriculate and graduate from the College of Medicine.  This will include management of the daily office operations, supervision of academic skills specialists at the four UICCOM campuses, coordination of UHP post-matriculation programs, and advising students on the UICCOM policies, procedures, and promotions processes.  The Director will develop and advise on budgetary needs and expenses as well as assist with grant writing and fundraising efforts. She/he will organize and manage diversity workshops and events and participate in the development of materials related to underrepresented populations in the medical profession.  Travel for the purpose of outreach and recruitment and to the regional UICCOM campuses is expected.


A Master’s degree in counseling, education, or student services with two years experience in an academic environment, student advising, program coordination, management and public speaking are preferred.  Minorities are encouraged to apply.
