Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1846, Saint Xavier University was the
first Mercy college in the United States and is Chicago's oldest
Catholic university. Serving approximately 5,700 students at its
campuses in Chicago, Orland Park and at its Loop location, the
University offers 35 undergraduate majors; more than 40 graduate program

The School of Education invites applications for One Year Non-Tenure
Full Time faculty positions for the beginning August 2009. These
positions require a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship
and service; advising students; participating in school and university
governance; engaging in curriculum development, professional
development, faculty selection process, and accreditation processes;
collaborating with public and private schools and community agencies;
seeking external funding; providing leadership and representing the
school in the professional community at the local, state, and national
levels. In addition, some programs may be offered at distance sites or

Teaching and Leadership
This position requires courses in the graduate Teaching and Leadership
program. An earned doctorate in Education and experience in P-12
classrooms/settings are required. This program in offered at distance
sites, which may require willingness to travel.
