FACULTY POSITION IN SPECIAL EDUCATION, 

ADULT STUDIES EDUCATION PROGRAM


Position

Open position in the Education Department, teaching and coordinating the Adult Studies Degree Completion Special Education program.  Position starts summer or fall 2009.


Qualifications

Ph.D. preferred, Master’s Degree required.  At least five years of experience with K-12 special education are required.  Experience in teaching and scholarship desired.  Trinity seeks candidates who are professing Christians committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.  Prospective faculty members should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education in the tradition of Reformed Christian higher education and should be competent to demonstrate to students a mature articulation of faith and learning.  


Responsibilities

Coordinate the Adult Studies Special Education program:  assist with marketing the program, record and supervise entrance requirements for the program, advise prospective and current students, contract and supervise adjunct instructors, coordinate and participate in course development, and other such duties.  


Teach courses in the Adult Studies Education curriculum, particularly those in special education, teach at least one course per semester at the Addison or Chicago locations; visit student teachers as needed.  


The coordinator reports to the Director of Adult Studies Education.


Compensation

Rank and salary commensurate with experience.  Benefits include health insurance, pension, life insurance, and disability insurance.
