Position Title: Head Men’s Baseball Coach |

Primary Function: The primary function of this position is to be the head coach of the men’s baseball team at UIS.
|

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Development of competitive intercollegiate men’s baseball program within the guidelines of the NCAA Div. II, the Great Lakes Valley Conference and UIS.
- All coaches are required to complete timely documentation of all NCAA rules compliance responsibilities as required by the Compliance Director (e.g. telephone logs, contacts, playing and practice logs, pass the NCAA Div. II annual recruiting certification examination, attendance at rules sessions being a mandatory condition of employment and any missed rules education sessions are required to be made up). This will be part of the yearly evaluation process and coaches will be held accountable for all NCAA rules compliance. Repeated secondary violations and/or a major violation will be considered grounds for immediate termination of employment within the Intercollegiate Athletic Department at the University of Illinois at Springfield.
- Management, development, and implementation of all aspects of the intercollegiate men’s baseball program.
- Recruiting of highly successful student/athletes who are both physically and academically talented and who strive to graduate from UIS.
- Budgeting, planning, organizing and scheduling of program including funds and expenditures.
- Monitoring academic performance and progress of your student/athletes.
- Fundraising, marketing and promoting intercollegiate athletics at UIS
- Attend Athletic Department meetings as scheduled during the year.
- Hold regular office hours in the Athletic Office area in the Recreation and Athletic Center.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the athletic administrator.
Qualifications/Minimum Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Evidence of successful baseball coaching and recruitment of physically and academically gifted student/athletes at the four year collegiate level is preferred. Preferences given for an advanced degree with experience; experience of at least three years coaching in a NCAA Division I or II collegiate baseball program; comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
